Hanna Boys Center
As co-principal of the academic program at Hanna Boys Center, a live-in treatment facility in Sonoma for youth recovering from trauma, Courtney Jackson has helped thousands of adolescents make positive, lasting changes. “If a kid is motivated to get back on track, we can accelerate the process,” says the respected counselor. The center’s competency-based education model allows teens to quickly make up credits in small daytime classes while learning life skills around the clock. The center—funded entirely by private donations and a last bastion of residential care—has been giving local youth a place to turn to for 75 years.
"Kids in our care don’t have to choose between residential treatment and staying connected to their families."
