Access Institute for Psychological Services
“Mental health issues don’t discriminate—they affect all of us at one point or another,” says Azita Ghafourpour. The former public defense attorney has seen firsthand what can happen when someone vulnerable falls through the cracks. In her current role as director of development at San Francisco’s nonprofit Access Institute for Psychological Services, she continues to advocate for those struggling with mental illness in the Bay Area, ensuring quality health services remain affordable and accessible to everyone in need. Ghafourpour notes, “Our caring network provides holistic treatment for people at all stages of life—from kids and teenagers to couples and seniors.”
"We treat people when they need help, for as long as they need it."
